Named after the Russian ballerina Anna Pavlova, the dessert was created in her honor during her tours in the 1920s. Pavlova is made from a crisp meringue shell, topped with whipped cream and fresh fruits such as berries, kiwi, or passion fruit. Australia and New-Zealand proudly claim to have invented the dessert!
