Strongly associated with United Kingdom, fish and chips became popular during the 19th century as an affordable and filling meal for working-class communities.

The dish is believed to combine fried fish introduced by Sephardic Jewish immigrants with fried potatoes that gained popularity in Britain during the Industrial Revolution.

It is traditionally accompanied by salt, vinegar, and sometimes mushy peas.

This fine art print is based on Lucile’s original watercolor painting.
